At least one person was injured in a shooting incident Tuesday evening in Opelousas.
Police responded around 8 p.m. to a call of multiple shots fired on Pulford St. One person was shot while in a vehicle and was transported to a local hospital. Opelousas Police Chief Martin McClendon tells KATC the victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Police are speaking with one person of interest and tell us they are also working to find two others that were in the vehicle that was struck.
The car's gas tank was struck when it hit a telephone pole. Gravel could be seen on the road to absorb gasoline that leaked from the vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
