Opelousas Police Department collecting supplies for those affected by Hurricane Laura

The Opelousas Police Department will hold a hurricane relief supply drive for those in Lake Charles and the surrounding areas affected by Laura.

The department says that items can be dropped off at the Opelousas Police Department on N Court St in Opelousas from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm over the next several days.

A list of items requested for donation was shared to the department's Facebook page on Sunday, August 30. See those items below.

  • Mops & Brooms
  • Trash Bags
  • Toiletries
  • Bleach
  • Gloves
  • Mosquito Repellent
  • Buckets
  • Rags
  • Scrub Brushes
  • Personal Hygiene Products
  • Bath towels & wash rags

  • Paper masks- Laundry detergent
