Opelousas City Marshal Paul Mouton and his officers conducted a sweep of city streets last night, August 9, in the city.
The sweep was focused on looking for outstanding warrants and anyone in possession of drugs or weapons.
Mouton said the office tries to conduct a sweep every six months to keep the city safe.
He added that the purpose of the sweep is to "find out what's going on in the community."
"Whatever is wrong, we try to correct itright away and keep people safe."
