An Opelousas clinic is one of several Louisiana hospitals to receive federal funding through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The award totals $11.3 million, part of the HHS Health Center Cluster Program, which has provided grants each year to the nation’s underserved communities and vulnerable populations since 2002.
The Louisiana centers targeted for funding include the Southwest Louisiana Primary Health Care Center in Opelousas, which received $3.2 million, as well as clinics in Avondale, St. Gabriel and Batchelor.
