Opelousas Police have made an arrest in connection with an August 11 shooting on West Grolee Street.

Police say that officers with the Lafayette Parish Sheriffs office assisted in executing an arrest warrant on Edward Antoine on charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Felon in possessions of a firearm

Antoine was wanted in connection to an August 11 shooting in the 700 block of West Grolee Street. That shooting, according to police, happened after Antoine and the victim were involved in an alleged argument over a parking dispute.

The victim received serious injuries from the shooting, police say.

Antoine was processed and turned over to Opelousas Police who booked him into the St. Landry Parish Jail.

Investigators say they are actively working on solving other open shooting investigations and would urge anyone with any information related to any violent crime to contact the Opelousas Police Department at 337-948-2500, crimetips@opelousaspd.com or through Crime Stoppers (337-948-TIPS, www.stlandrycrimestoppers.com or by using the P3 mobile App.) Tipsters can remain anonymous.
