Opelousas Police are investigating a shooting Saturday night that left one person dead.
According to police chief Martin Mclendon, officers responded shortly after 8:15 p.m. to a possible shooting in the 600 block of Patsy Street.
One male victim was found with a gunshot wound and was deceased on officers' arrival.
The investigation is ongoing; no further information is available at this time.
