Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Grand Basileus Dr. David Marion presented a donation to the three churches affected by arson earlier this year.
The donation was in the amount of $12,000 and was given to the 7th District Baptist Association.
Dr. David Marion said that "tragedies like this bring us together."
The donation was made before the Opelousas City Council Meeting on Tuesday night.
Basileus is a Greek term that means "king" or "emperor;" the Grand Basileus of the fraternity is the leader.
Marion added that it is important to "come together at all times, particularly in the times in which we now live."
