OGH administers COVID-19 vaccines to public at Holy Ghost Catholic Church

On Wednesday, Opelousas General Health System administered COVID-19 vaccines to the public at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas.

Around 250 vaccine doses were made available to the health system this week.

OGH says that appointments were made with community members as soon as notification of the vaccine supplies were announced last week.

Vaccinations began on February 2 and continued on February 3 from 8:00 am until 3:30 pm. A third vaccination event will be held on Thursday, February 4 following the same times.

An appointment is required to receive a vaccination.

Opelousas General Health says they will continue to provide updates on the availability of vaccines on there Facebook page and website.

The Louisiana Department of Health releases a new list of vaccine locations every Monday in the state. On February 1, LDH said that 406 locations in all 64 parishes would be supplied with limited doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. To see the compete list, click here.

Vaccinations are only being given to those who meet the Phase 1B, Tier 1 requirements. An appointment must be made to receive a vaccine.
