Opelousas Police are investigating a shots fired incident that happened this morning.
During the incident, someone "fired a significant number of rounds," a spokesman said.
No injuries have been reported, but a stray round did hit a gas line in the area, the spokesman said.
The gas company has been out to the scene, capped the line and turned off the gas, so there's no danger now to residents, the spokesman said.
The investigation is continuing.
