Opelousas Police say they have arrested a man wanted for a burglary at a Housing Authority storage facility on Martel Lane.
Police say they arrested 36-year-old Alvin Williams for the January 29 incident in the 500 block of Martel Lane in Opelousas. The storage facility where the burglary occurred belongs to the Opelousas Housing Authority, police say.
Information provided to officers led to the identification of Williams as a suspect. His vehicle was also identified in this incident. Williams is accused of stealing two hot water heaters valued at over $800. Officers say they were able to recover the stolen items after Williams cooperated following his arrest.
Alvin Williams was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on one count of simple burglary.
