EUNICE — An escaped inmate from the Mamou Jail has been arrested in Eunice.

Officials say that during patrol Tuesday afternoon, an officer with the Eunice police department noticed a man acting suspiciously. During the investigation, the man allegedly gave the officer a fake name, and it was later determined that he was an escapee.

Police say that 36-year-old Joshua Galloway escaped from Mamou City Jail on Monday night. He is now facing additional charges of simple escape, resisting arrest by failing to properly identify. Galloway also has an active warrant from Eunice City Marshal's Office.
