The St. Landry Parish District Attorney's Office and local non-profit Dads and Kids are partnering up to relaunch a program called Barbers and Books.

The DA and Dads and Kids are currently collecting children's books. Books will then be donated to local barbershops, where kids can read while getting their hair cut.

Local salons, doctor's offices, and other establishments are also encouraged to get involved in the program.

Kids can even take the books home if they'd like.

St. Landry Parish DA Charles Cravins said, "I'm so excited that we're doing this one program, that I think the spirit of it is going to lead to even more programs that we can do."

Any local establishment that would like to participate can contact dadsandkids@gmail.com.
