A Leonville veteran was surprised today with a shadowbox containing a signed card from President Trump.
Bobby Degeuyter was given a signed placard and pen from President Trump thanking him for his service.
It was presented to him by Congressman Clay Higgins.
Degeuyter served in Vietnam before coming home to serve his town as fire chief and city manager.
"It blew my socks off, to tell you the truth. I wasn't waiting for this. I knew something was going on, but I didn't know what. For him to go all that trouble to get the president to sign a card to thank me for being a vet--a serviceman--it really made my heart feel good," Degeuyter said.
