OPELOUSAS, La. - An Acadiana woman is marking a milestone by celebrating her 100th birthday.
On Saturday, Genevieve Simms was surrounded by her family and friends for her special day in Opelousas.
Simms is a retired educator and librarian from St. Landry Parish.
She has two children, four grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Happy birthday, Ms. Genevieve!
