A food distribution site has been set up on Thursday in Opelousas.

Accorrding to Opelousas Police, a Second Harvest food truck and Borden’s milk truck are in Opelousas distributing food.

The department says the trucks are located at the Holy Ghost Church parking lot on North Union Street.

They are asking those in need of food to come out while supplies last.

On Wednesday, Second Harvest Food Bank of Acadiana delivered more than 1,300 meals and more than 450 gallons of milk to local hotels where many people experiencing homelessness and displaced Lafayette-area residents are staying.

According to a release, Second Harvest staff and volunteers partnered with the Acadiana Regional Coalition on Homelessness and Housing to deliver trucks of meals and supplies to 13 area hotels where displaced people are staying.
