EUNICE, La. - A man wanted for attempted murder after a June shooting in Eunice has been arrested.
Billy James Thomas, 41, was arrested on charges of attempted second degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, domestic abuse battery and home invasion.
According to Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot, the victim was shot in the upper torso on the right side.

According to the Department of Corrections, in 2016, Thomas was sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of distribution of cocaine. Thomas was released in 2018, after serving 19 months.
He was one of the thousands of inmates released under a Criminal Justice Reform Law that had bipartisan support in the legislature.
