ST LANDRY PARISH, La. - A 49-year-old Eunice man was killed Friday night in single-vehicle crash
At 7:50 p.m. on July 3, 2020, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I were notified of a single-vehicle crash on LA Hwy 29 near Carl Loewer Road in St. Landry Parish, according to TFC Thomas Gossen, spokesperson for Troop I. The crash took the life of Hubbard Arrington.
The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Arrington was driving a 2001 Ford Ranger pickup eastbound on LA 29 when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle ran off the roadway. Upon doing so, the Ranger traveled through a ditch and overturned.
Troopers say Arrington was not restrained at the time of the crash and was ejected. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. Impairment is suspected as factor and standard toxicology samples were obtained for analysis. Gossen stated. This crash remains under investigation.
Troop I has investigated 27 fatal crashes resulting in 30 deaths in 2020.
