The City of Eunice announced the immediate closure of all parks, playgrounds, and recreation facilities.
Mayor Scott Fontenot says the closure which is effective starting Tuesday, March 31, 2020 is in compliance with the proclamation issued by the Louisiana Governor John bel Edwards.
"As Governor Edwards and other leaders have stated., the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to stay at home," a release for the mayor's office states. "The City of Eunice is committed to Louisiana's effort of slowing the spread of COVID-19 and protecting the citizens of our community. "
The closure is in effect until further notice.
