The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office says their teams are continuing to conduct high waster rescues in the parish on Tuesday.

Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says that many waterways are beginning to back up onto parish highways making them impassable. The flooding is related to heavy rains from Tropical Storm Barry. The Sheriff has deployed teams to assist in several high water rescues.

This morning on Hwy 361 in Lebeau, several people were rescued from their vehicles after becoming stranded in high water.

The Sheriff's office asks that residents remain safe when traveling and refrain from traveling on flooded roadways.

KATC's Justice Henderson will have more from the Sheriff's Office on the reports of flooding and rescues in the parish.

Photos of the Search and Rescue Team conducting operations were shared to Facebook on Tuesday morning.
