GRAND COTEAU, La. — Both lanes of I-49 near Grand Coteau are now open following a fatal multi-vehicle crash on Monday night.
I-49 Southbound at the Grand Coteau exit and Northbound at Exit 7 were shut down as State Police worked the scene.
The crash happened near Mile Marker 8.
At the time of the crash, troopers said they could not confirm how many vehicles were involved or how many people were injured.
One fatality was confirmed.
