The boil advisory that was issued for the area affected (northeast of Attakapas and north of Prudhomme streets) by a broken water main has been lifted for Opelousas General Hospital and the surrounding streets: Attakapas, Natchez Blvd, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Chippewa, Tunica, Tensas, Deitlien, Catherine and Kingston.

The following streets are still under a boil advisory until further notice: McNeese (east of the canal), Johnson, Blue, Leday, Recard and Peace Streets. Mayor Alsandor and City Officials will keep residents updated as needed including when the advisory is lifted.

With the abundance of rainfall and more rain expected in the forecast, Opelousas Mayor Julius Alsandor is asking residents to travel cautiously and to be mindful of high water and potential flooding on city streets and roadways.
