PORT BARRE, La. — A boil advisory has been lifted for parts of the Town of Port Barre.

The boil order went into effect on Wednesday because there was an emergency shut off to repair a leak at the corner of Beauxis Drive and Nezat Street. The shut off happened Tuesday, and during that time there was little to no water pressure in the affected area.

The shut off affected all customers along Beauxis Drive, East Courtableau, Nezat, Stadium and Carrier Streets.

The Town of Port Barre Water System rescinded the boil advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals - Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected from their water supply system have shown the water to be safe.
