A blood drive was held today to support Wade Berzas, the survivor of the December plane crash in Lafayette.
The blood drive began at 11:00 am at Park Vista Elementary School in St. Landry Parish.
This is one of several blood drives that have been held for Berzas, the sole surviving passenger of the plane.
"Today we're just using this day to give back to him," said Breanna Prudomme, a Pre-K teacher at Park Vista. "To show him our appreciation, to let him know that we're all praying for him, that we love him, and that we're here to cheer him on."
The drive ended at 4 p.m.
A blood drive will be held on Saturday, February 1 in support of Danielle Truxillo Britt, who was injured when the plane struck her vehicle.
