ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. - Following an investigation, deputies have arrested two Opelousas residents after a juvenile went missing.
On June 30, 2020, a St. Landry Parish resident reported her child under the age of 12 was missing from their residence, according to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz.. Hours later while the complaint was being investigated, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office received a call stating that the juvenile may have been sighted at a local motel.
The concerned citizen said she saw the missing girl and Phillip Guidry, 56, at a local motel. The concerned citizen stated that the juvenile was in a car with Guidry and they both exited the vehicle to enter one of the rooms at the hotel.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined by detectives that Joseph Guidry provided an alcoholic beverage to the juvenile and then proceeded to have sexual intercourse with her, according Sheriff Guidroz..
Guidry had allegedly rented the vehicle that he was in and was in possession of a firearm and is a convicted felon. Phillip Joseph Wayne Guidry was arrested on July 1, 2020, and booked into the parish jail on charges of second degree rape, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, and illegal carrying of weapons by a convicted felon.
Deputies continued their investigation.
On July 6, 2020, detectives arrested Raquel Rubin, 35, after evidence was uncovered that Rubin aided the juvenile in leaving her home, according to investigators. Rubin transported the juvenile to her own home until she was picked up by Guidry.
Raquel Renee Rubin was arrested on charges of two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Her bond was set at $10,000.
