Following nearly a full week of closures for two alternative programs in St. Landry Parish, next week the school system says they will be back in session.

According to the St. Landry Parish School System, CAPS, Eunice Alternative, and St. Landry Virtual School at SLATS will reopen Monday, January 27, 2020.

Previous reports did not mention the closure of Eunice Alternative.

The closures stemmed from a cyber attack last week. Systems and computers were shut down after what officials say was a virus attack. On Thursday, Superintendent Patrick Jenkins said that payroll was not affected by the cyber attack and everyone will be paid on schedule.

He provided important links for faculty, parents and students while they continue to fully get back online. A link to that article is here.

The St. Landry Parish School Board now has a temporary site to add items that the public may need access to.

The temporary site can be access here

"We are currently limited to the things that we have access to, however, if are looking for something and it isn't listed on the temporary site, use the “contact us” button on the home page and we will see if we can add it to the temp. site. Thanks for your patience in this process," The school board said in a statment.
