The 35th Annual Port Barre Cracklin’ Festival has been canceled.

Organizers say the festival was originally scheduled to be held the second full weekend in November.

The Port Barre Lions Club that sponsors the annual event says they are saddened that they have to cancel due to the current COVID19 situation.

The event has been held annually for the past 34 years to raise funds to support the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation, Louisiana Lions Camp and provide glasses to individuals in need in the community.

"We will be planning other fundraising events that we hope you can support us with. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in November 2021," they say.
