According to Opelousas Police Chief, Martin McLendon, officers responded to the scene of a fatal shooting that took place Tuesday night.
The incident occurred in the 800 block of North Main Street near convent just after 8:00 p.m.
Authorities have confirmed the death of a 15-year-old victim as a result of the shooting.
Police say the victim was walking when a car drove by and fired at least three shots.
