Stephan Boxie, the son of Father's Day shooting victim Stanley Boxie, has released a statement regarding his father's death.

Boxie was killed on Father's Day morning while sitting in his car in the driveway of his home.

My dad, Joseph Stanley Boxie Jr always made me feel like he was invincible. In his death, he proved me right. His spirit was invincible. My dad was a lot of things, but a bad person he was not! His heart was big like his stature and he shared his loved even to those whom did not deserve it. What the killers failed to realize, or failed to care is that when they took his life on father's day they didn't just take our dad from us but they also removed parents from there own home. My heart goes to that family because I wouldn't wish the absents of parents on no one. This I know to be true: My heaven is here on Earth with my family and the hell they exist in will hopefully one day lead them to the path of remorse and redemption. My dad loved and taught me so much history and since he last resided on mlk drive, I find it fitting to end with this quote "I have decided to stick with love, hate is to big of a burden to bear.
