Slightly drier weather to start the week

and last updated

It's not often that there's any good news when it comes to the dewpoint in south Louisiana during the summer time.

So with that in mind, it's a nice treat to take a look at those dewpoints and see them sitting in the low 70s and even upper 60s for at least the first half of the week.

This drier air is coming in from the northwest on the back end of a trough that has moved across Acadiana, and looks like it will stick around for a few days.

It'll be mostly sunny skies for the next several days with only an isolated shower or two possible through the week, rain chances will sit at around 10%.

In the tropics, Isaias continues to move toward the border of North and South Carolina and may make landfall as a Category 1 storm later this week.

There's another disturbance that shows some signs of intensifying but that will stay out in the Atlantic and pose no threat to the Gulf of Mexico.
