It has been a wet stretch of days across Acadiana with showers and thunderstorms rolling across the area, and Wednesday will be a continuation of that pattern.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue on Wednesday with on again/off again showers lasting through the entire day.

A few strong to severe thunderstorms will be embedded in the showers so we'll need to be mindful of storms producing strong, possibly damaging winds.

As with the storms we saw earlier this week frequent lightning will also be an issue with the thunderstorms on Wednesday, so remember to head indoors if you notice lightning in the area.

Louisiana's summer time showers can always produce a tremendous amount of rain which can lead to localized flooding, and that will be the case again Wednesday.

Widespread flooding won't be an issue but the typical problem areas can see the water quickly build up, the good news is though that since there are breaks in the rain it'll give these areas a chance to drain.

It'll be another wet day on Thursday with many of the same issues spilling over from Wednesday, there will finally be a break in this pattern by the end of the week.
