Severe storms have passed, quiet through the weekend

It was an intense start to the weekend with wild weather moving across Acadiana and providing strong winds, intense rain, and plenty of lightning.

The showers and storms have now passed and we'll spend the rest of the morning drying out as showers follow the storms out to the east and the threat of severe weather will also disappear.

Saturday will be a cool, windy day as the winds will stay gusty through the afternoon with temperatures falling through the remainder of the day as chilly north air works into the region.

Skies will try and clear out and while it'll take the clouds a little while to move out we may see some sunshine by the afternoon.

A chilly quiet day on Sunday before an uptick in wet weather which will stick through the weekend.
