Mostly sunny to start the day off but the clouds will begin to drift in as we get into mid Thursday morning and the showers will arrive a little after lunch time.

It's not going to be blanketing all day rain but it would be a good idea to keep an eye on the radar as showers will be scattered through the afternoon across south Louisiana.

Rain chances look a little higher to the east so communities along the Atchafalaya Basin may stand a slightly higher chance of catching one of those showers.

The rest of the forecast will ring a familiar bell with those highs pushing into the low 90s and the heat index will be in the triple digits through the afternoon.

There's not much change coming up in the forecast either with the weather pattern repeating through the rest of the week and into the weekend.

In the tropics things remain quiet for Acadiana and the Gulf Coast area, Tropical Depression 11 will stay in the Atlantic and will start to deal with hostile conditions in the next 48 hours.

Even taking an extended look into next work week shows that Acadiana's weather should remain quiet.
