As we head toward the middle of September there's no sign of fall as temperatures and humidity both stay high for the extended forecast.

Wednesday will be partly clouds with a few scattered showers and a thunderstorm or two in the mix through the afternoon, so keep an eye on the radar.

Temperatures are going to be sitting in the low 90s with heat index values in the triple digits by the late afternoon, courtesy of high humidity.

Moisture is going to get stuck into the area this weekend and last all the way through next week, this means that unsettled weather will be the main order of business through next week.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like there's any chance of a front over the next week, so expect the summer temperatures to continue through the middle of the month.

The tropics are remaining active as we get to the peak of the season, there is nothing though that is currently threatening the Gulf of Mexico.
