Retired State Trooper to train Ville Platte Police

VILLE PLATTE, LA — A retired Louisiana State Trooper has been hired to train the Ville Platte police department.

Mayor Jennifer Vidrine announced she hired Willie Williams to train officers. Williams will be in charge of training new and current officers as well as developing policies and training methods and teaching those methods.

"He will be a tremendous asset to the city of Ville Platte and law enforcement at every capacity, his experience and expertise is priceless. Now I know the department will be doing the right thing for our officers and the residents of Ville Platte," said Vidrine.
