Quiet weather to wrap up the week

and last updated

The tropics are kicking into high gear and for a full update on what the Gulf may be looking at you can find more here.

In the meantime though Acadiana's weather, mercifully, looks like it will be quiet as we try and wrap our heads around the forecast for the tropics.

The dry air that has dominated Acadiana the last couple of days will be sticking around, which is leading to some very pleasant early morning temperatures.

Once again though despite being in the lower 70s for the start of the day the temperatures are still expected to tick up into the low to mid 90s in the afternoon, as they've done all week.

There's a little more moisture for eastern Louisiana which means more showers on the other side of the Atchafalaya Basin, although a few of those showers will drift into the eastern half of Acadiana.

This is more or less what you can expect for the end of the work week, and even the first half of the weekend.

Sunday is when we will see a return of some of that moisture and scattered showers will be back to start the week, beyond that it will all depend on the tropics.
