It's the first forecast of 2021 and it's nice to be able to ease into the year with a quiet weekend forecast coming up across Acadiana.

All the bluster and storms moved through on Thursday and while a few clouds will linger on into the end of the week there will still be some rounds of sunshine.

Temperatures are going to remain fairly cool here with highs sitting in the 50s and a chilly breeze existing through the the rest of the afternoon, the rare example of westerly winds bringing in cooler air.

Clouds will increase overnight with gray skies lingering into Saturday morning before finally clearing out late in the morning and winds picking up from the north, that will keep the wind chill down in the 50s through the day.

There's another cool down coming for Saturday night with lows dropping to just above freezing by Sunday morning and the weekend will end on a sunny note.
