Quiet weather to start the work week

It's the start of another work week and when it comes to the weather we'll have a chance to ease ourselves back into the swing of things.

Temperatures will be off to a cool start on Monday morning, but with plenty of sunshine on tap for the day we'll be able to warm up into the lower 70s by the afternoon.

A few clouds will drift into the area through the day, eventually becoming mostly cloudy by the late evening ahead of a quick moving front.

This front will swing through around midnight sparking a few showers across Acadiana that should be wrapped up by the time the sun comes up on Tuesday.

The front is moving quickly enough for the clouds to quickly clear out of the area which means a cool and sunny forecast that will last through the middle of the week.

Weather will stay quiet through the middle of the week, but by the time Friday rolls around we could be looking at a fairly stormy pattern.

It's still early in the forecast process so the finer details still need to emerge, but there are early indications that we may have some severe thunderstorms during the first half of the weekend.

Stay tuned to KATC through the week as we iron out those details and let you know what to expect when the weather starts to turn.
