It looks like there's at least one last quiet day before a surge of moisture comes moving in across the central Gulf Coast, creating unsettled weather for the better part of a week.

Thursday, though, will remain quiet with temperatures sitting in the low 90s and the heat index in the afternoon will sit in the triple digits for yet another day.

Plenty of sunshine for Thursday and even a slight breeze with winds coming from the northeast around 5-10 mph.

Friday is when things will start to change with the introduction of some scattered showers in the afternoon as some of the first bits of moisture push into Acadiana.

This deep tropical moisture will entrench itself in the area creating decent rain chances everyday starting on Saturday and lasting through most of next week.

This isn't to say that it will be continuous rain but it will be solidly on and off again showers almost every day this weekend and next week.
