A Port Allen man died Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle crash, State Police say.
Sean Cadby, 44, was riding his motorcycle on Bayou Jacob Road in Iberville Parish when the crash happened at about 5:30 p.m.
State POlice say a 79-year-old Plaqueman woman was driving on Kirtley Drive and entered the highway into Cadby's path. The motorcycle hit the woman's SUV and even though he was wearing a helmet Cadby suffered fatal injuries, troopers say.
A passenger on the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The woman driving the SUV was properly restrained and was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Impairment is not suspected for either driver, but routine toxicology samples were taken for analysis.
This remains an active investigation, and charges are pending.
There is no further information at this time, troopers say.
