Plenty of sunshine with temperatures warming up

Posted
and last updated

The temperatures are continuing to warm up this week with a return to the upper 70s Thursday afternoon and even the lows will trend up the next several nights.

It'll be a quiet day again with plenty of sunshine, and the sunny skies will remain through the rest of the work week before more moisture gets into the area over the weekend.

This moisture will be rooted in the tropics as Tropical Storm Eta will sit and fester in the Caribbean and eventually start to drift into the Gulf of Mexico.

When the storm drifts into the Gulf it should stay in the eastern half of the Gulf of Mexico, and with a front coming through next week it will keep the storm closer to Florida than Louisiana.

It may result in a few scattered showers, however, over the weekend particularly along the coast as some of the Gulf moisture pushes into the area.

The increase in moisture will lead to a warm up through the weekend and into next week with highs in the low 80s through next work week.
