UPDATE:
The driver of a vehicle in an early morning crash in the 1800 Blk of W. University Avenue has been identified.
Joseph Bossier, 46, was traveling southbound in the 1800 block of W. University Avenue at 12:45 a.m.
According to police for unknown reasons, Bossier crossed the center line and hit another vehicle.
Bossier was pronounced dead at the scene.
This investigation is ongoing.

Lafayette Police is investigating a fatal crash near the 1800 Block of West University Avenue.
Police closed the intersection of W. University Ave. and Cameron St. for a short period of time.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
