Early voting begins on Saturday, November 2 and Lafayette Parish will make on-street parking available for voters until November 9 at two locations Downtown.

Locations will be clearly marked and be made available specifically for the purpose of early voting at the Registrar of Voters Office on Lafayette Street.

Parking locations include:

  • W. Convent St. between Buchanan St. and Lafayette St. (across from First Baptist School)
  • Lafayette St. between Convent St. and Barry St. (across from First Baptist School and in front of the Alexandre Mouton House)

A map provided by LCG shows the locations outlined in yellow.

The locations are intended for short-term parking for early voters only. All other on-street or surface lot parking will be subject to normal fees, designations and/or restrictions as marked, according to LCG.

Parking will only be available during early voting from September 28 through October 5.

LCG says that the Buchanan Street garage will not be open for early voter parking. The parking garage was closed until further notice following a structural assessment last year.

Early voting in Lafayette Parish is held at the office of the Registrar of Voters located at 1010 Lafayette St. Early voting is from Saturday, Nov. 2 through Saturday, Nov. 9 – with the exception of Sunday, Nov. 3 – from 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. each day.
