Gov. Edwards holds press conference on state's phase one opening

On the first day of phase one for Louisiana, Governor Edwards will update the public on the new guidelines in place.

On Thursday, Edwards signed the order moving the state into phase one, ending the stay at home order on May 15, 2020.

The governor is scheduled to speak at 2:30 p.m.

Certain businesses will now have the chance to reopen their doors following guidelines to keep the public safe. To read more about the order and what is opening, click here.

Thursday's COVID-19 numbers in Louisiana were at 33,489 with a total number of deaths at 2,351. The LDH was reporting that 22,608 coronavirus patients are "presumed recovered."
