Child abandoned at Mississippi Goodwill, suspect in custody

Police in Mississippi say that a suspect in connection with a child abandoned at Goodwill in Southaven has been taken into custody.

On Monday, police say they were called out to Goodwill Industries in reference to a abandoned child. The two-year-old was located and turned over to Child Protective Services.

Following a post on social media, Southaven Police say they received numerous tips, and with the assistance of F.B.I. offices in both Mississippi, and Tennessee, along with the Shelby County Sheriff's Department a suspect related to this case was taken into custody in Memphis at approximately 3:30pm .

Police say an investigation is still on going, no suspect information or charges are being released.

Southaven Police shared photos of the child and possible suspect which they say help assisted in taking someone into custody.
