Man wanted in Poydras Street shooting

Police are looking for a man following an early morning shooting in Lafayette.

On May 30, 2020, at 3:00 am, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a disturbance involving a firearm in the 200 block of Poydras Street, according to Sgt. Wayne Griffin, spokesperson for the Department.

Once on scene, officers located one victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to his lower torso. Medical assistance was provided to the victim prior to him being transported to a local hospital. Police say the suspect fled the scene prior to officers' arrival.

Through their investigation, officers were able to develop a suspect and secured an arrest warrant for Nathaniel Zeno for one count of illegal discharge of a firearm and one count of felon in possession of firearm.

The victim is listed in stable condition, Giffin stated.
