'Lost my Tips' fund raises more than $50,000 for those in service industry

The numbers are in for the "Lost my Tips" fundraiser in Downtown Lafayette.

The fund raised more than $52,000 for people in the service industry affected by the pandemic. That means 250 workers are getting checks for $200.

What remains is being donated to the United Way.

Community members helped the fundraiser exceed the original goal of $30,000.

In March, a "Lost my Gig" fund to help local musicians raised more than $30,000.
