The Vermilion Parish School Board is now quiet after a small group of protesters stood in front of the Superintendent's office in Abbeville.
Last week, the board voted to place Superintendent Jerome Puyau on administrative leave.
Puyau said he is still the superintendent and will continue to show up to work.
The protesters want the chief of police to remove the superintendent from office. The chief's response is that he is not ready to make that move, because Puyau has not committed a crime.
