Courts in the Village of Maurice's park will be locked because of the spread of coronavirus.
Playgrounds and other areas will stay open, but if you decide to use those areas, you're asked to take the recommended precautions.
Mayor Wayne Theriot explains the closure comes at the advice of state and local officials, who are urging residents to not gather in large groups.
"Under their advice, we are closing that off to prevent that type of gathering," explained Theriot. "We are not closing off the remaining part of the park, which is the playground and other areas. We are asking the individuals who are utilizing it to practice social distancing."
