Abbeville Police have identified the victim who died in last week's shooting on Dutel Street.
Lt. Adam Touchet confirmed the victim was 72-year-old Emmit Perry of Abbeville. Police are not releasing the identity of the second victim at this time.
The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. on April 2 in the 300 block of Dutel Street. Officers were originally called out to a "shots fired" incident, but learned two people had been shot.
One victim was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The other, now identified as Perry, died as a result of the shooting.
Abbeville Police are not releasing any further details regarding the investigation due to its ongoing nature.
