The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office is currently assisting first responders at the scene of a house fire in Bayou Vista.
Deputies say the fire is on Fairmont Avenue. Smoke can be seen coming from the home as firefighters work to put out the fire.
It is unclear how much damage the home has sustained. Drivers in the area are asked to take a different route. Fairmont is currently shut down.
